Trees and plants have always been an important part of my life, from helping in my grandfather’s garden as a child to managing one of Florida’s premier tree farms for over 22 years.  As a young man, I started a neighborhood lawn business and worked summers installing landscapes for a local contractor.  This is when I realized that working outdoors with trees and plants could be a part of my future.  After high school, I enrolled at the University of Florida, and received my degree in Environmental Horticulture.  Immediately after graduation I was hired to work at a tree nursery, and over the course of the next 2 decades I helped build this business into one of the state’s most respected and quality-oriented tree farms.  I continued my education during this time receiving many certifications, including ISA Certified Arborist in 2002, Green Industry Best Management Practices and Pesticide Applicator’s License.  I also stayed up to date on the latest issues in the industry including proper cultural practices and new diseases affecting our landscapes.  I have taught others on these topics at educational events provided by industry organizations including FNGLA (Florida Nursery Growers and Landscape Association), Florida Chapter of ISA (International Society of Arboriculture), and Roots Plus Growers.

During my time growing and selling trees, I realized there was a need for the consulting services I offer. I have witnessed countless landscapes fail for a myriad of reasons – poor quality products, poor installation practices, poor maintenance, poor design – just to name a few.  Unfortunately, I see these mistakes over and over again, and these mistakes cost money that didn’t need to be spent.  I can provide expert advice for you, whether you’re a homeowner, HOA, Property Manager, Nursery, Landscape Contractor, Developer or Landscape Architect. As an industry we are faced with new challenges including environmental challenges, new disease pressure, water availability for our landscapes, and countless others.  As a native Floridian, I believe we must move forward carefully to protect our industry and the state in which we live. With my experience and expertise, I will make your landscape healthy, sustainable, and beautiful.
